Dr. Husman brings a wealth of experience to Eastwind Healing Center. She aims to empower women, children, and QTBIPOC individuals aged 6-64 seeking care for anxiety, trauma, pain, and treatment-resistant conditions. Dr. Husman also works with Ketamine and Spravato in the office, provides psychedelic-assisted therapy, and works with spiritual emergence and spiritual emergencies.  While she collaborates with colleagues on more complex issues like eating disorders and primary psychotic disorders, her focus remains on therapy tools that connect deeply with the unconscious mind.

If traditional approaches haven’t fully helped you overcome challenges, there’s hope. You’ll discover new possibilities by fostering safety and self-compassion and re-examining the beliefs that hinder your growth.

Dr. Husman adopts a conservative prescribing style, favoring cost-effective generic medications without compromising quality. She believes in starting low and preventing unnecessary polypharmacy. For many of the disorders that she treats, she views medication as a tool for healing, not a lifelong burden, and has experience with compassionate deprescribing. In addition, her expertise in functional medicine underscores her approach, as she integrates lifestyle components such as sleep, self-care, meditation, diet, movement, and spiritual connection into her treatments, providing a holistic pathway for those unable to tolerate or benefit from traditional medications.

Her extensive certifications include functional medicine, multiple energy psychology modalities, pain-specific therapies, hypnosis, and numerous other therapeutic modalities that enable her to promote relaxation and facilitate unconscious changes effectively. By utilizing a variety of tools, such as self-compassion training, cognitive reframing, and tapping, she tailors unique experiences that address various challenges, including OCD, Tourette’s, ADHD, depression, and chronic pain. The journey to recovery is a collaborative effort driven by the patient’s commitment to engage in the work ahead.

When considering hypnotherapy, Dr. Husman emphasizes that all hypnosis is self-hypnosis, and she believes that most patients can learn this skill. With her gentle, indirect facilitation, patients maintain control of their healing process. The goal is not to unearth repressed memories but to heal emotional wounds from the past and pave the way for a fulfilling future.

As you embark on this transformative journey, know that memories of traumatic events may soften, allowing for more profound healing. Do you have any ongoing legal matters related to past traumas? In that case, it’s wise to discuss your intention to work with the unconscious mind with your attorney before proceeding.
